Hampshire County Scouts (Turnover £2.1 million) is seeking a Treasurer to take over from the retiring incumbent.
Overview of the role
The role is a voluntary one requiring a degree of active involvement in the financial management of the County. Day to day accounting is carried out by the County Bookkeeper but the Treasurer is responsible for broader financial management.
Together with other members of the Board of Trustees, you will ensure that the County’s finances are maintained on a sound footing and that financial reporting internally and externally is clear, comprehensive and appropriate for the audience. You will have responsibility for advising the Trustees on policies, procedures and practice and ensuring that these operate to safeguard the County’s assets. As a member of the County Leadership Team, you will be involved in the broader management of the County as well as being responsible for reporting to it and the Board of Trustees at regular intervals.
Skills and experience sought
The County is seeking an individual with senior financial management experience, gained in a commercial or public/third sector institution, who can demonstrate both financial acumen and a sensitivity to the charitable objects of Hampshire Scouts.
