Ferny Crofts Scout Activity Centre was bustling last weekend to the sound of potential, networking and future leaders as Hampshire Scouts' popular Young Leader Rally took place.
With adventurous activities, skills building workshops, and chances to meet new people and influence the shape of the Young Leaders programme to come on a national level, there was lots to see. Plus, a range of entertainments in the evening helped them all to relax and unwind among friends.
But don't take our words for it, instead we asked the Young Leaders themselves what they took away from the event. Here then is Young Leader Rally 2026, in their own words:
Young Leader Rally has been an amazing opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills. It has enabled me to push my limits, and experience new challenges.
Roisin, 14, from Portswood (Southampton City district).
This is my third and final Young Leader Rally and I have loved every one and always look forward to them. They are a great place to meet new people and make friends. I am actually really sad about not being able to come to the next one.
William, 17, from Hythe (New Forest Solent district).

Young Leader Rally was very well run. Overall I enjoyed the activities most, and I'll be definitely back next time.
Umberto, 16.
Scouting is all about expecting the unexpected. No day is the same, and that's the fun of it.

It's a great opportunity to learn new skills while being a Young Leader, make new friends and compare stories.
Eleanor, 17, from Basingstoke (East district).
The Young Leader Rally has been a lovely opportunity to develop my skills and meet new people. I have learnt new things as well as building upon prior knowledge.

The Young Leader's Rally was an amazing experience where we made new friends, learned new skills and had so much fun making long lasting memories.

This weekend has genuinely improved my mental health ten-fold.

Lucian, 14, from Kempshott (Basingstoke West district).
I think this event is just an amazing opportunity for everyone involved. It alone is a great reason to be involved in Scouting and the Young Leading community.
