A CAMPING challenge which aims to encourage Explorer Scouts, Network Members and Adult Volunteers to sleep under canvas at least once a month for a whole year has been hailed a success.
More than 200 people signed up to the challenge this year, with even more expected for 2020.
Some of the participants opted for the Extreme Camping Challenge where in addition to one night under canvas per month, 10 nights were required in more adventurous situations.
This includes sleeping in a bivi, pitching 2m off the ground, camping more than 600m, surviving with only three items of kit and having three people in a two-man tent.
