Today, members of our County Team and the teams that lead our Districts have come together for our Autumn County Conference. They discussed exciting updates and initiatives for Hampshire Scouts and The Scouts nationally.
One of the exciting announcements was the New Hampshire Hero's Award. An opportunity to recognise young people who show their true Scouting values.

Meet Seth, a Scout with 6th Gosport Air Scouts. He is our first and defining recipient of the Hampshire Hero award. His actions, which fell outside the remit of our existing awards, prompted the creation of the Hampshire Hero award itself
Through his own initiative, Seth set out to bring joy to children who were spending Christmas in hospital, collecting over 45 presents and 25 books with the support of his friends and family.
His efforts reached around 50 families on the Paediatric Ward at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, bringing comfort and smiles at a time when they were most needed.
More than a generous act, Seth's kindness inspired not only his peers but also his leaders and wider community, reminding us all of the true power of Scouting values in action. Seth's humility, care, and commitment to others has set the gold standard for this award.
We love hearing about inspiring stories from our Scouts, and we hope the example of Seth and other heroes like him, inspire us all.
